Spring 2025 TAPPI Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee Meeting

Yankee dryers are one of the most dangerous and costly areas of a tissue mill. As part of TAPPI’s Tissue Division, the Yankee Dryer Safety and Reliability Committee (YDSRC) is an active group of Yankee dryer owner/users and service providers who work to expand knowledge of safe operating and maintenance practices. The committee meets twice annually in the spring and fall with the intent of developing best practices and standards for problems that cause drying system delays and compromise safety across the tissue industry.  

The 2025 Spring YDSRC meeting will cover a wide range of topics related to Yankee Dryer safety, reliability, maintenance strategies, emerging trends, and industry standards. This year’s program will address topics like methods of improving hood operation and energy efficiency, thermocompressor operation, a case study, and reviews and updates on several TAPPI Standards and TIPs. Attendees will gain insight on how to enhance operational efficiency and safety within the industry. A virtual option will be available to professionals unable to attend in-person. Registration is required for both in-person and virtual attendees. 

Subcommittee meetings are scheduled from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM CT and focus on specific areas of interest and expertise within the Yankee Dryer domain. These subcommittee sessions allow participants to dive deep into specialized topics and share valuable insights and experiences.
